How to Play & Match Strategy
Step-by-step game plan to secure victory in the arena
Passive Scouting & Tombstone
Never drop a blind Lava Hound at the bridge early. Start passively by planting Tombstone 3 tiles from the river in the center or cycling Flying Machine behind the King Tower to scout their anti-air responses. Send Miner only to chip or snipe early glass cannons like Musketeer when banking near max elixir.
Air Swarm & Tank Punish
Start Lava Hound from the deep corner once you identify their air counters. Support the push with Flying Machine and Hero Mega Minion, spacing them 3 tiles apart to deny enemy spell value. As the Hound crosses the river, send Miner directly onto their defensive anti-air troop or tower, then drop Goblin Curse and Evo Zap to turn defending swarms into Goblins.
Overtime Swarm Overwhelm
Stack relentless back-to-back Lava Hound pushes while keeping Tombstone active in the middle to pull ground pressure. Layer Goblin Curse over the opponent's defensive pocket right before Lava Pups burst, following up with Evo Zap to vaporize reset targets. Maintain 3-card cycle with Hero Mega Minion on board to rotate quickly back to your Evo Barbarians and spells.
Pull heavy ground tanks like Giant or Hog Rider into the center kill-zone using a 3-4 tile Tombstone placement. Drop Evo Barbarians on the bridge to shred incoming ground bridge spam, and use Hero Mega Minion to eliminate isolated heavy air hitters. Keep Flying Machine positioned near your King Tower to pick off troops from long range without taking splash damage.
Against Phoenix and Skeleton Dragons, never deploy Flying Machine and Hero Mega Minion clustered in the same lane. Bait their Phoenix onto your Lava Hound, then drop Hero Mega Minion directly on top of the Phoenix to win the air trade before cycling Evo Zap onto the egg. If facing Three Musketeers, use Goblin Curse combined with Evo Zap on their two-musketeer split to wipe the pack and spawn offensive goblins.
Lava Hound plus Miner forms the core offensive lock: the Hound absorbs tower fire while Miner tanks for the popping Lava Pups. Defensively, Tombstone and Evo Barbarians establish an impenetrable ground wall that buys infinite time for your air units to clean up.
❓Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – Evo Zap Lava Hound Beatdown
What is the best opening play with this deck?
Plant Tombstone 3 tiles from the river or cycle Flying Machine from the back corner. Never commit Lava Hound in the first minute without a substantial elixir lead or knowing the opponent's deck.
How do you counter Phoenix and Skeleton Dragons?
Space your Flying Machine and Hero Mega Minion across opposite sides of your push to prevent splash value. Use Hero Mega Minion's single-target DPS to melt Phoenix, and finish the egg instantly with Evo Zap.
When should you play Evo Barbarians versus saving them?
Save Evo Barbarians strictly for defense against ground beatdown tanks and bridge spam rushes. Their increased survivability stops counter-pushes cold and forces out heavy spells that leave your Lava Hound untouched.
